#9 Because I Stepped in Dog Doo This Morning…

I live in a pretty populated and pedestrian friendly city. But on my way to work this morning, right in front of the local Starbucks, I stepped in a big pile of some dog’s stuff–slid, actually. It wasn’t pretty. I took a quick scan for the dog in question but he or she must’ve fled the scene in a hurry.

Much to my surprise, there was no reaction from the passersby and Starbucks loungers. They all just glared at me like, “what? you’re the idiot who stepped in it.” True (jerks). But, com’on– should I be punished to this degree because I glanced away for a split second to adjust the volume on my iPod?

Furthermore, I expected some good karma given my recent convictions in the dog poop arena. Despite my running dry on poop bags, I’ve resorted to Target and Giant bags to ensure I’m never less than fully prepared to “pick-up after my pet.” Have you ever tried to pick up a mess with a grocery bag? It’s not easy. They’re not designed for the swift and steady hand required to get the job done. But, nevertheless, I do it because it’s my responsibility as a citizen and proud pet owner. And this is how the universe thanks me…

The fact that at a Nats game in DC you can get champagne in a can, or the fact that we get SO EXCITED to drink it!

You be the judge, I guess….

But add this canned de-lush-isness to some Corn Hole and a victory against the O’s, and you have a reason so celebrate!!!!!

Seriously. Are there subliminal messages in the bulls-eye? Do they say ‘team member’ so that I feel obligated to donate just like I would at a soccer game when I buy a lemonade? Do they install the cool cart escalator JUST because they know I think it’s cool and I’ll use it, even if I don’t need anything upstairs? Whatever their tricks, they work EVERY TIME. I continue to walk into target for one thing- two, tops. Yet I walk out with 7 bags only to realize the furniture I bought on impulse might not fit into my car and I have at least 200.00 less than I did 90 minutes ago. So I figure, since I’m already over budget for the day, I might as well grab lunch at a chain restaurant close by and be a little Lush-ious. Cheers.

When your boyfriend leaves you alone for 4 days, there’s only two things to do: Clean (only to enjoy your clean apartment for FOUR WHOLE DAYS!), and have a few drinks!! Have the girls over for a margarita or two and Be Lush-ious. Cheers!

When you’re stuck at work after no sleep with a head ache slash hangover, and your office mate is exceptionally perky…. Nothing sounds better than a nap followed by a Tylenol, Aleve and sangria cocktail.

Does anybody have any Bailys I can put into my morning cup of bad office coffee? Because right now would be a great time to just Be Lush-ious.

Here’s to being twenty-something and fighting to get noticed at the big company meeting. Maybe less is more? Maybe my co-worker is telling the Big Guy that the great ideas she’s bringing to the table were my ideas? Maybe I just need to plan an office Happy Hour and not invite anyone from the office. Is it 5:01 PM yet????
